Napoli on the Road Pizza, located in Chiswick, London, was introduced as the best pizza in the world at the 50 Top Pizza World 2026 awards. This success was announced at a ceremony held in Naples, the birthplace of pizza, where chef Michele Pascarella, the founder of this pizzeria, celebrated amazing moments.

History of Napoli on the Road

Pascarella started this pizzeria in 2016 from a three-wheeled Piaggio Ape vehicle equipped with a wood-fired pizza oven. He served pizzas with unique flavors on the streets of London and at farmers' markets. Now, after a decade, this business has expanded to restaurants in Chiswick, Richmond, and Soho. The Soho branch is particularly known for its pizza tasting menu inspired by Pascarella's childhood in Caserta, Italy.

Global Standing and Impact on the Food Industry

Pascarella expressed his surprise at the ceremony, saying, "I am in shock. I probably need to drink a few drinks and take a little break to process this. I can't explain how big this is. It's like the Oscars for pizza." This success not only represents the efforts of Pascarella and his team but also showcases the quality and innovation in the food industry in Europe.

In this competition, now in its tenth year, the results are determined based on the evaluation of nearly 1000 anonymous inspectors. Each restaurant is reviewed twice and scored based on the quality of the pizza, ingredients, service, and hospitality. After being at the top for two consecutive years, Una Pizza Napoletana in New York has dropped to second place, while Confine in Milan has achieved third place.

In the final ranking of 50 Top Pizza World 2026, Napoli on the Road is at the top, followed by Una Pizza Napoletana and Confine in second and third places, respectively. These results, in addition to having a positive impact on the European food industry, can help attract tourists and food enthusiasts to London and other European cities.
