Saeed Shojaei, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, in his recent meeting, pointed to the necessity of enhancing the resilience of the production sector in Iran and emphasized the shift in approach from "survival" to "preserving productive assets and developing industrial capacities." This official, referring to the economic pressures that have been imposed on this sector in the past two years, elaborated on the problems that producers are facing.

Current Challenges in the Production Sector

Shojaei in this discussion mentioned energy imbalance, currency fluctuations, rising input costs, and limited financial resources, and identified disruptions in the supply chain as one of the main factors exerting pressure on production. He emphasized that these challenges have seriously affected the operations of industrial enterprises, and overcoming this situation requires the simultaneous implementation of crisis management policies and structural reforms.

Economic Estimates and Their Consequences

He also referred to the estimates from the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, which indicate that the opportunity cost resulting from energy limitations in the industry and mining sectors will reach 303 and 473 trillion tomans in the years 1403 and 1404, respectively. These figures reflect the significant dimensions of the costs imposed on production and highlight the need for fundamental changes in economic and managerial structures.

Shojaei added that to address these problems, comprehensive and effective measures need to be taken that will facilitate the improvement of production conditions and increase resilience in this sector. He believes that only with precise planning and cooperation among various institutions can the desired goals be achieved and thereby contribute to the economic prosperity of the country.

This issue may be of importance to European citizens interested in trade and economic exchanges with Iran. Improving the production situation and resilience in this sector can create new opportunities for international cooperation and foreign investments. Given global challenges, enhancing resilience is considered one of the keys to success in economic fields.
