Gatwick, one of the largest airports in the UK, has transformed the way vehicles are stored by using parking robots from Stanley Robotics. These robots can park vehicles with centimeter-level precision and seem to meet travelers' needs for safe and easy parking.
Details of the Robotic Parking System
This parking system can accommodate about 95% of vehicles, although some vehicles are excluded. To use this service, vehicles must weigh less than 2.6 tons, have a height of less than 2.3 meters, a wheelbase of less than 3.3 meters, and wheels with a maximum size of 21 inches.

The parking area is also protected by fencing, adequate lighting, and 24-hour security patrols. Additionally, an automatic license plate recognition system monitors incoming and outgoing vehicles. According to Stanley Robotics, these robots stop in case of a problem and do not move unpredictably.
Passenger Feedback and Service Costs
Some passengers have reported that the services provided are very quick and easy to book. Additionally, others have chosen this service for its added security. The cost of these services is between 6 to 12 euros (5 to 10 pounds) more than regular parking.
In the early days of launching this system, the minimum stay required to use it was five days, and it was mainly available on weekdays between 9 AM and 5 PM. However, Gatwick has announced that these restrictions will gradually be reduced.
The use of parking robots at Gatwick not only addresses parking challenges at airports but also represents technological advancements in the aviation industry.
