Rosewood Hong Kong has been named the best hotel in the world in the 2026 Top 50 Hotels list for the second consecutive year. This hotel, located at the top of Victoria Harbour, has been praised for its 11 restaurants and bars across 65 floors and its wellness facilities, including a 25-meter infinity pool.
Top Hotels in Europe
Europe, with 21 hotels on this list, has once again showcased its strength in the hospitality industry. Passalacqua Hotel on Lake Como, ranking fifth, has secured the highest position among European hotels. This hotel has 24 rooms and has won the best boutique hotel award for the third consecutive year.

Four Seasons Firenze is ranked twelfth, and both Italy and France each have six hotels on this list, making them significant representatives of Europe. Other Italian hotels include Casa Maria Luigia in Modena (ranked 18), Bulgari Roma (ranked 32), Portrait Milano (ranked 39), and San Domenico Palace in Taormina (ranked 50). Casa Maria Luigia has been recognized as the highest new entry on this list.
Highlights from Other Countries
In France, four top hotels are located in Paris, including Hôtel de Crillon at rank 14 and Le Bristol at rank 19. Hôtel du Couvent in Nice is ranked 38, and Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc is ranked 44. In the UK, Claridge’s is ranked 13, Raffles London at The OWO is ranked 28, and The Connaught is ranked 49.
Other European hotels include Four Seasons Astir Palace in Greece (ranked 27), The Peninsula Istanbul in Turkey (ranked 31), Badrutt's Palace in Switzerland (ranked 36), Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo in Monaco (ranked 40), and Hotel Sacher Vienna in Austria (ranked 42).
The Top 50 Hotels list is compiled by an academy consisting of 800 members, including hoteliers, travel journalists, hospitality educators, and business travelers. Academy members each cast seven votes for hotels they have stayed at in the past three years, ranked in order of preference. The most important feature of this voting process is the anonymity of the voters, except for the academy heads, which helps prevent lobbying.
