Ahmad Al-Shara, the President of Syria, announced on Tuesday at the Arab Media Summit in Dubai that "it seems that tensions in the region are escalating, especially following the war with Iran" and added that "despite all the tensions, no one can predict what will happen." Al-Shara also expressed hope that the situation would "remain stable."
The Importance of Cooperation for Syria's Future
At this summit, Al-Shara called on the countries in the region to "maintain calm and cooperate to reduce the problems arising from the war." He emphasized that this cooperation is essential for Syria to achieve "a new beginning after 60 years of destruction and 17 years of war."

The Arab Media Summit began with the presence of regional leaders, officials, experts, and media figures, gathering around 10,000 participants. Al-Shara, as the keynote speaker at the opening of the summit, stated: "Syria has become a story that is being told across the world" and emphasized the need to seize opportunities to improve the country's situation.
Syria; A Bridge Between East and West
The President of Syria explained that his country is seeking to turn the crises arising from the war with Iran into opportunities for growth and development. He noted that "people talk about Syria as a safe route and securing supply chains" and mentioned the United Arab Emirates as an example of a country seeking to "target suitable opportunities" through its actions.
Al-Shara also highlighted Syria's trading history, stating: "Syria has always been a trade route, and we as traders and negotiators have this characteristic in our DNA." He added that with transparency and honesty, Syria is increasing its credibility and is "not dependent on any party."
The President of Syria further emphasized that his country is transitioning to a transformative phase towards democracy and is gradually breaking these chains after years of sanctions. He said: "We expect some shocks and must transition to a calmer phase."
Al-Shara also referred to food security and meeting needs as important regional goals, stating that Syria has many opportunities that European investors and neighboring countries are interested in investing in.
In conclusion, expressing hope for stability in the region, he emphasized that Syria "is trying to find ways to reduce the damages of war" and, in cooperation with the Arab world, is seeking to expand peace in the region and help economic growth.
Al-Shara also pointed to the existing challenges in the media, stating: "It is a heavy burden to work in the media field; we must verify the facts and avoid politicization." He noted that people's lives depend on the media, and they must keep pace with Arab societies to be informed of the real truths.
