Edgar Barrera, the Mexican songwriter and composer, has been announced as the frontrunner with ten nominations at the 2026 Latin Grammy Awards. The Latin Recording Academy released the full list of nominees on Wednesday, and Barrera's name stands out more than any other in the list. He is nominated for his works for Karol G and Carín León and is present in three main categories of the night, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.

The awards ceremony, which is the 27th edition of this event, will take place on November 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Following Barrera, a group of other artists will compete with seven nominations: Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso, Jorge Drexler, Karol G, and Rosalía. Silvana Estrada and Mon Laferte follow with six nominations each, while Argentine producers Rafa Arcaute and Federico Vindver each have five nominations.

Nominated Albums and Songs
The Album of the Year category includes ten different works that clearly showcase the diversity of Spanish-language music. Albums such as "EQUILIBRIVM" by Anitta, "Free Spirits" by Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso, and "LUX" by Rosalía are among these works. In the Record of the Year category, songs like "¿Cómo se ama?" by Jorge Drexler and "La Perla" by Rosalía featuring Yahiritza and Essencia are nominated.
Finally, the Song of the Year category includes famous works that honor their writers. Among these songs are "Hasta Jesús tuvo un mal día" by Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso featuring Sting, and "Mi gran amor" by Santana featuring Becky G. Additionally, the songs "Humano" by Juanes and "Nilo" by Zana are also included in this category.
Moreover, the Best New Artist category features eleven competing artists, including Delilah, Fabian, Luvo Gilberto, and others. This group has not yet broken into the general categories of the awards but is striving to change that with their talents.
The winners of these awards will be announced on November 12 at a party that will also introduce Daddy Yankee as the Person of the Year this year.
